Norberta L. Pelletier, 92 Former Resident Of Dillwyn, Dies

DECEMBER 30 – Norberta L. Pelletier, 92, a recent resident of Ridgefield, CT and had lived In Closter, NJ for a long time, died Monday, December 22, 2003 in Hancock Hall, Danbury, CT following an extended illness. She was the wife of the late Cleary Pelletier, who passed away in January of 1989.

Mrs. Pelletier was born in Elizabeth, NJ on September 26, 1911, a daughter of the late Alphonse and Anna Ward Lutz. While living in Closter, she worked as a secretary and real estate agent with the former Pelletier Agency. She was a member of the Women's Auxiliary of the America Legion in Closter, and also a member of St. Mary's Choir there.

In 1980, she and her husband relocated to Dillwyn, and remained there for 12 years. Here she was active with the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in nearby Farmville and was a communicant in Buckingham County at the Church of the Nativity.

Survivors include four daughters, Maryann Pelletier-Brooks and her husband, Bryan of Zaragoza, Spain, Margaret Bartenhagen and her husband, Nick of Brattleboro, VT, Jeanne Sanna and her husband, Mark of Ridgefield, CT and Claire Pelletier of Linden, NJ; grandchildren, Erik Bartenhagen and is wife, Nicole Noel, Jessica Bartenhagen, Matthew Sanna and Meredith Sanna.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday at Sacred Heart Church, Georgetown, CT. The Rev. Mark E. Grimes, Parochial Vicar, officiated. The interment will take place Saturday, January 3 at 10 a.m. in the Church of the Nativity Cemetery, Buckingham County.
