JULY 13 – David Edward Wood, known to the Farmville area as Darrell Edward Wood, 52, died Tuesday, July 6, 2010 in the Virgin Islands. He was the son of the late Clarence Edward Wood.

He is survived by his wife, Venessa Wood; son, Christopher Lee Wood; two daughters, Nina Jackson and Holly Spoon; his mother, Mildred Patterson Wood formerly of Farmville; three sisters, Peggy Rodgers, Gloria Scarabelli, and Gayle Wood; and two brothers, Nelson Hamlett and Joseph Wood.

A memorial service will be held 3 p.m., Wednesday, July 14, in the chapel of Shorter Funeral Home. The family will receive friends after the service at the Farmville Moose Lodge. A meal will be served.
