NEW CANTON, Jan. 8 – Robert I. King, of New Canton, died Wednesday, January 7, 2004.

Mr. King served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and worked with VEPCO for 42 years.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; a son, Wayne and his wife, Mary and two grandchildren, Tammi and her husband, Vern and Michael and his wife, Martha.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Welcome Wesleyan Church, Hwy 15, five miles south of the James River Bridge.
