Luther Walden, Sr., Ret. VA State Trooper Dies Friday, April 30

MAY 4 – Luther N. Walden Sr., formerly of Lynchburg and Phoenix, AZ, 84, died Friday, April 30, 2010. Born April 25, 1926, he was the son of the late John and Mattie Walden and was also preceded in death by a brother, Morris Walden, and sisters, Virginia Bryant and Mae Walden and granddaughter, Kerry Walden.

He is survived by his wife, Gay T. Walden; sons, Luther N. Walden Jr., and wife, Sue and Aubrey T. Walden and wife, Judy; sister, Mildred Flood of Dillwyn; grandchildren, Jennifer Dorman, Justin Walden and Nathan Walden and two great-grandchildren, Braden and Lliam Dorman.

Mr. Walden was a retired Virginia State Trooper, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and a member of the Marshall Lodge No. 39, Lynchburg. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Dillwyn.
