CONCORD, May 6 – Herbert Lionel Neas Sr., 80, of Concord, passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at his home. He was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene Williams Neas, and is survived by his second wife of 32 years, Arlene Stinnett Neas.

Born February 26, 1930, in Bedford County, he was a son of the late John and Sally Foster Neas. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Stone, and a son, Jerry Neas.
Mr. Neas was the brother of area residents, Edna Burks and Joyce Grant of Farmville.

A funeral service was held May 2 at Whitten Monelison Chapel by the Rev. Dr. Derik Hamby. Interment followed in Amherst Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post 16.
