Funeral Services To Be Held Monday For Hattie Templeton, 90

MAY 20 – Hattie Hazel Arrington Templeton passed away Thursday, May 20, 2010 at her daughter's home in Farmville. She was born February 24, 1920 in Danville, the oldest of 11 children born to David Stokely Arrington and Grace Sams Arrington. She was predeceased by her husband, Noah, her sister, Lucy Simpson, and her brothers, Melvin, Ralph Howard, and Paul Arrington.

After she graduated from Charlotte High School in 1938, Hattie and Noah were married that August in Cullen. In 1942 they bought a farm near Abilene where they lived and reared their children.

Surviving are a daughter, Hazel Harrison and husband, George of Farmville; son, Murray Templeton and wife, Alice of Crewe; daughters, Karen Gibson and husband, Henry of Cullen, Linda McClung and husband, Ronald of Lake Wylie, SC, Wanda Stewart and husband, Ned of Bangkok, Thailand, and Marcia Templeton of Cullen; granddaughters, Camille Rabon, Melanie Kay, and Debbie Ziherl; grandsons, Robert Templeton, Patrick Templeton, Nolan Gibson, Ronald McClung, Mark McClung, and Martin Stewart; great-grandchildren, David Templeton, Noah and Liam McClung, Michael, Alexia, and Kathryn Kay, Seth Rabon, Hunter and Jacob Gibson, Taylor and Keagan McClung, Kristin and Ashley Ziherl, and Jordan Anderson; sisters, Betty Noblin, Bessie Munford, Shirley Richardson, Ruth Garrow; and brothers, Tom and Kenneth Arrington.

Mrs. Templeton worked at Baldwin's Department Store in Farmville for 30 years. She loved sewing, quilting, reading, and playing the guitar. She was a member of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church.

Family night will be held 6-8 p.m., Saturday, May 22, at Puckett Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 24, at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church near Abilene.
