Funeral Service Held Monday For William L. McMillan, 74

COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Jan. 6 – William L. McMillan, Sr., 74, of Colonial Heights, died Thursday, January 1, 2004 in South-side Regional Medical Center, Petersburg.

He was born in Coalwood, West Virginia, a son of the late Monroe J. and Ola Booker McMillan

Mr. McMillan served 20 years in the U.S. Army, retiring as a Sergeant First Class, a lifetime member of the VFW Post 2239, a member of DAV and a member of Swift Creek Baptist Church. He was a retired engineer for Civil Service after 15 years.

He is survived by his wife, Pallie B. McMillan; two sons, William L. McMillan, Jr. of Colonial Heights and Kent M. McMillan and his wife, Claudia of Farmville; two granddaughters, Sarah N. McMillan and Laura K. McMillan; one brother, Joseph B. McMillan and his wife, Mae of Concord; one sister, Margaret A. Seay of Buckingham County and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Monday at Swift Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Felker officiating. Burial followed in Dale Memorial Park, Chesterfield.

Memorial contributions may be made to Swift Creek Baptist Church Building Fund.
