DECEMBER 23 – Mae Page Wells, 96, died Saturday, December 20, 2003 at her residence In Farmville.

She was born September 22, 1907 in Appomattox, a daughter of the late Thomas Lee Page and Sally Doss Page. She was the widow of Robert 0. Wells.

Mrs. Wells was a resident of Farmville for 75 years and a member of Farmville Baptist Church. She was a retired foreman for Craddock-Terry Shoe Corporation.

She is survived by two sons, Barry L. Wells and his wife, Elma of Danville and Robert L. Wells and his wife, Suzanne of Madison Heights; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Albert H. Page, Sr. of Farmville and a sister, Virginia Estes of Rice.

Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Monday at the Chapel of Doyne-Burger-Davis Funeral Home, Farmville, with interment in Westvlew Cemetery.

Remembrances may be made to the American Lung Association or the American Heart Association.
