Evelyn V. Dasher,91 Of Farmville, Dies On April 9

APRIL 20 – Evelyn V. Dasher, 91, of Farmville, died Friday, April 9, 2010 at the Woodlands.

She was born April 24, 1918 in Owings Mill, MD, the daughter of the late Henry and Marjorie Lang. She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, Robert Dasher.

Mrs. Dasher was a “Jack of all Trades.” During World War II, she was an Aircraft Inspector. She and her husband of 64 years, the late Norvel Oakley “Oak” Dasher, owned a gas station where she pumped gas, changed oil and tires and any other job that was necessary. She and “Oak” even built their own house on Plank Road.

She is survived by a sister, Ruth Knight; stepdaughter, Barbara Mello; and numerous grandchildren, nephews, and nieces.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, April 13, in Trinity Memorial Gardens.
