DURHAM, NC, Dec. 16 -Archibald McDowell Bynum, 84, of Durham, NC, died Friday, December 5, 2003 in The Pavilion Nursing Center in Croasdaile Village.

Mr. Bynum was a native of Farmvllle. He graduated from Hampden-Sydney College and moved to Durham as a bookkeeper for Baldwin Department Store.

He is survived by his wife, Martha McLennan Bynum; two children, Archibald McDowell Bynum, Jr. and Martha Bynum Brame both of Durham, NC; three grandchildren, Martha Murdaugh Brame, Robert Marshall Brame, Jr. and Alice Bynum Brame and one sister, Mary Bynum Booker of Farmvllle.

A private memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.
