Lunchtime program on small space gardening

Published 8:45 am Thursday, February 22, 2018

Want to eat fresh foods, but don’t have a big yard? Try small space gardening. If you are new to growing your own food, or have limited yard space, this workshop is for you. Small gardens can be rewarding for anyone who enjoys fresh, home-grown vegetables, even for those with physical challenges.

Master Gardeners LouAnn Dumminger and Tom Crouse will share some of the best practices for making the most of your limited growing space. Dumminger is a native of Tidewater. She is a graduate of Longwood University and has spent most of her life in Prince Edward County.

Crouse is new to the area but brings fresh energy to the Heart of Virginia Master Gardener group, having worked 25 years in the Food Service Dept. for Chesapeake Public Schools.
