Food to be distributed

Cumberland Community Church located 1542 Anderson Highway, across from Cumberland County Library cordially invites you to attend Sunday morning worship service each and every Sunday morning from 10-11 a.m.

Shiloh New Covenant Church located about 5 miles east of Cumberland Courthouse at 665 Anderson Highway partnering with Central Virginia FeedMore Program will be operating the Shiloh New Covenant Food Pantry Commodity Supplemental Food Program seniors age 60 years and older.

The regular monthly meeting of the Cumberland County Board of Supervisors is held each second Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. in the Circuit Court Room unless otherwise announced.

Food will be distributed on Tuesday from 1-3 p.m. and they will be accepting applications for new clients, for all seniors 60 and older who are Cumberland county residents and income quality. You must bring a form of ID and proof of your monthly income. Also when you become qualified for this food program, you will be contacted by phone from the food bank director when you can start your pick up for the food. A speedy recovery is sent out this week to all those sick and shut in everyone.

The Buckingham County Christian Fellowship Association a non-profit organization will be entering their 30th year as a group all members and prospective members are cordially invited to attend and bring a covered dish for lunch for their kick off meeting on Saturday, Jan. 13 at 1 p.m. at the Welcome Wesleyan Church located at 26565 North James Madison Highway, New Canton. Visiting in the home of Annie May Miles on Saturday, Dec. 30 was Linda Lipscomb of Cumberland.

The entire congregation at Buckingham Baptist Church at Gold Hill would like to wish their pastor and his wife the Rev. Bill and Linda Gillespie of New Canton a special Happy Anniversary wish for Monday.

A large crowd attended a Christmas Brunch at the home of T.J. and Stephanie Waycaster and family of Powhatan on Sunday Dec. 24. A nice time was had by all.
