Members of the community and the Farmville Fire Department came out in support of the eighth annual Sportsman Dinner, held at the Firemen’s Sports Arena in Prince Edward County on Nov. 4. According to Safety Officer Julie Bailey and Chief Dean Farmer, the activities during the dinner would raise funds for a rescue engine the department will be set to have in December. Participants got to take part in a live and silent auction, and enter raffle tickets to win guns and hunting gear, including revolvers and rifles.
