Banquet rescheduled

Due to circumstances beyond its control the Buckingham County Christian Fellowship Association had to reschedule its Annual Thanksgiving Banquet from Nov. 4 to Nov. 11 at 1 p.m. at Cedar Baptist Church located at 3932 Bell Road in Dillwyn.

All members and their guest are cordially invited to attend and asked to bring a covered dish with the meats and drinks furnished by the association. Following this will be door prizes. For further information contact President Barry Miles at (804) 492-5806 or (434) 315-4181.

Happy birthday wishes are sent out this week to Frankie Brauham of Cumberland on Monday, Nov. 13.

Shiloh New Covenant Church, located about five miles east of Cumberland Courthouse at 665 Anderson Highway, will be operating The Shiloh New Covenant Food Pantry Commodity Supplemental Food Program, partnering with Central Virginia FeedMore Program for seniors ages 60 years and older.

Food will be distributed on Tuesday, Nov. 14 from 1-3 p.m. and they will be accepting applications for new clients, for all seniors 60 and older who are a Cumberland county resident and those who meet income quality.

Participants must bring a form of ID and proof of monthly income. Also when qualified for this food program, participants will be contacted by phone from the food bank director when they can start pick up for the food. Rene Marion, of Cumberland, celebrated her 50th birthday on Monday, Oct. 30. A surprise birthday celebration was given in her honor on Saturday Nov. 4 at the Cumberland County Volunteer Fire Department. A large crowd attended and had a nice time.

Spreading God’s Gifts Inc. a non-profit organization serving Buckingham and surrounding counties by helping individuals in their hour of need celebrated 10 years on Saturday, Nov. 4. Spreading God’s Gifts board of directors would like to publicly thank each and every one for their prayers and financial support. Please continue to pray for them and remember by you helping them, they can help others.
