FARMVILLE — A disorderly subject at Woodforest Bank on Peery Drive in Farmville initiated a high-speed pursuit spanning from Farmville to Dillwyn on Tuesday afternoon after he left in a vehicle matching the description of a car stolen in Buckingham County earlier the same day.

He left at approximately 1:09 p.m., and according to Town spokesperson Kate Pickett Eggleston, Longwood University police attempted a traffic stop of the suspect vehicle on High Street at approximately 1:17 p.m.

“The vehicle failed to stop and fled at a high rate of speed, taking West Third Street out of town and turning north onto U.S. Route 15,” said Eggleston. “The vehicle was eventually stopped in Dillwyn, and the suspect was taken into custody.”

According to Eggleston, two Farmville officers trailed the pursuit to provide backup for the Longwood officer until Buckingham could get units in place.
