Coffee and conversation with candidates set

PRINCE EDWARD — The Prince Edward County Republican Committee is holding a coffee and conversation event with candidates for the Prince Edward County Board of Supervisors on Aug. 26 from 10-11:30 a.m. in the public meeting room of the Barbara Rose Johns Memorial Farmville-Prince Edward Community Library.

According to a press release, the meeting will include an opportunity to visit with candidates over coffee and pastries. The release cited that all five candidates have been invited to attend. Candidates include Buffalo District Supervisor C.R. “Bob” Timmons Jr., Prospect District Supervisor Calvin Gray, Prospect District candidate David Emert, Farmville 701 District Supervisor Jim Wilck and Leigh District Supervisor Jerry Townsend. According to the release candidates from the Buffalo, Prospect and Farmville districts have agreed to attend.

“This event is sponsored by (the) Prince Edward County Republican Committee, but is not a partisan event,” officials said in the release. “The public is invited to attend this free and open event to get to know their candidates and to speak with them personally.”
