Police seek alleged Walmart impostor

Farmville Police are searching for a man who allegedly posed as a Walmart employee recently, emptying a register of all its cash.

According to a police press release, an unidentified individual took control of a register at Walmart in Farmville shortly after 3 p.m. on Aug. 25. “The person was wearing a blue Walmart vest, but was not employed at the business,” the release noted.

Police say before allegedly stealing money and leaving the building, the impostor proceeded to check out two customers.

“The suspect left the scene in a black car that was apparently parked between Walmart and Dollar Tree,” the release noted.

Police describe the suspect as a black male with a thin mustache, standing approximately 5 feet, 6 to 8 inches tall, and weighing approximately 180-200 pounds. “He also appears to have a tattoo on the front of his neck,” the release noted.
